Minutes of the 304th  Purchase Committee Meeting of the Gujarat Electricity Board held on Friday the 16th January 2004 at Gujarat Electricity Board, Head Office, Sardar Patel Vidyut Bhavan, Race Course, Baroda.

The following Members were present:

The Purchase Committee perused the  Compliance report in respect of action taken on the decisions of the 302nd & 303rd Purchase Committee Meeting of the Gujarat Electricity Board held on 28th November, 2003 & 3rd December, 2003 at GEB, HO, Sardar Patel Vidyut Bhavan, Race Course, Vadodara & Committee Room, Office of the Chief Secretary, Govt. of Gujarat, Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar respectively.

Item PC-1: Purchase of SMC Meter Boxes to house single phase & three phase meters.

Resolution No. 3/304 dated 16th January 2004

The Purchase Committee perused the note  regarding Purchase of SMC Meter Boxes to house single phase & three phase meters.

Purchase Committee after discussions and deliberations approved to purchase 20,000 Nos.  of 3 phase & 1,00,000 Nos. of single phase SMC boxes made out of thermosetting plastic at the total end cost of Rs. 3,09,48,800.00.  The Boxes are to be used  in Chemical Industrial areas and Coastal areas where Corrosion/Chemical effect is more prominent.  Further Purchase Committee authorized the Full Time Members to negotiate the prices with  the L-1 Parties to bring down the prices to the level of Metal Meter Boxes to the extent possible. Further Purchase Committee directed  to review the specification to  create more competition.  Also directed to get the specification from Andhra Pradesh & Tamil Nadu Electricity Boards for SMC Boxes being used in similar areas.   Delivery of these boxes may be scheduled so as to procure 20000 Nos. per month.

Item PC-2: Purchase of 220 KV Isolators with structure for the SSNNL deposit works.

Resolution No. 4/304 dated 16th January 2004

The Purchase Committee considered the  Note regarding purchase of 220 KV Isolators with structure for the SSNNL deposit works and  accorded  the approval for purchase of 220 KV Isolators with Structures at a total end cost of Rs. 3,60,97,961=55. Also authorized the Full Time Members for price negotiation with the L-1 regular firms for all the three  items and Chairman is authorized to  distribute the quantity after negotiation. 

It is also directed that the estimated price of the product  should be  prepared by User Department and submitted  along with the purchase proposal for each item, in future.

Item PC-3: Purchase of 2 Core x 2.5 mm2  PVC twin flat cable by way of repeat order against tender No. SP/2370/II.

Resolution No.5/304 dtd. 16th January 2004.

The Purchase Committee perused the note regarding purchase of 2 core x 2.5 mm2 PVC twin flat cable by way of  repeat order and  accorded approval for placement of repeat orders, in view of the recent increase in aluminum prices  for 44000 coils of  2 core 2.5 mm sq. PVC Twin flat cable  from following firms  with the same price, terms & conditions of the main A/T No. SP/2370/II at the end cost of Rs. 1,62,49,000/-

Delivery should be within one quarter including commencement period.  The total cost of proposal works out to Rs. 7,63,29,000.00 (Rs. 6,00,80,000.00 of originally approved cost of the proposal + Rs. 1,62,49,000.00 cost of proposed Repeat Orders].
